$3.6 MILLION DOLLAR SALE!

Chevrolet has auctioned off the first salable Z06 on January 29th in Scottsdale, Arizona. The 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition sold for $3.6 million. The sale creates a new record for a charity vehicle donated by a manufacturer at Barrett-Jackson, surpassing the previous record held by the first retail 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which sold for $3 million. The winning bidder was once again none other than Rick Hendrick, who routinely racks up the winning bid on special GM vehicles crossing the Barrett-Jackson block.

The 2023 Corvette Z06 offers the highest horsepower from a naturally-aspirated V8 to hit the market in any production car. The Z06 in question was driven onto the block at the annual auction by retired Corvette Racing legend Oliver Gavin. Representatives from Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit focused on building strong, stable and secure military families, also attended the auction and got to experience the excitement of the moment firsthand. 100 percent of the money raised from the winning bid will go to Operation Homefront.

2023 C8 Corvette – What makes this Vette special:

The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 features the all-new Normally aspirated 5.5-liter DOHC LT6 V8 engine. The flat-plane crankshaft enables drivers to push the tachometer to 8,600 rpm and altogether creates 670 horsepower, which is more than enough to shoot off the line and zoom around on the pavement. As Oliver stated in the press release, Corvette ticked off all the buttons to make this the premier supercar without the supercar price tag. He went on to say that the way the car wraps around the driver while cornering is priceless. He reported that he loved the way the 2023 C8 Corvette handles on the Nurburgring track in Germany. The 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition features only two paint choices which are unique to the package: all-new White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat or Carbon Flash Metallic. These 2023 C8 collectible Corvettes also feature black wheels with commemorative center caps and Edge Red striping. They looked like life size editions of custom Hot Wheels Redlines.
